વરતાલ-૫: ભગવાનમાં માયા ન સમજવાનું, સરખી સેવાનું

નિરૂપણ

યોગીજી મહારાજ કહે, “આશરાનું વચનામૃત વરતાલ ૫. અર્જુનને શ્રીકૃષ્ણ ભગવાને કહ્યું કે તારા મનના માનેલા સર્વે ધર્મોને તું ત્યાગ કર. એ પ્રમાણે અર્જુન વર્ત્યા તો ભગવાનનો રાજીપો થયો. એમ ભગવાનની મરજી પ્રમાણે વર્તે તો ભગવાન રાજી થાય. આશરો એ જ ભક્તિ છે. આ જોગ થઈ ગયો. એ મોટાં ભાગ્ય. નહીં તો લાખો વરસ તપ કરે તો પણ આ જોગ ન મળે.”

Yogiji Mahārāj said, “The Vachanāmrut about āsharo (refuge) is Vartāl 5. Krishna Bhagwān said to Arjun, ‘Abandon all other forms of dharma and surrender only unto me.’ God became pleased with Arjun because he surrendered that way. Similarly, God becomes pleased if one acts within God’s wishes. Refuge in God is itself bhakti. We have been connected with God - that is our great fortune. Otherwise, even if one performs austerities for one hundred thousand years, this connection is not possible.

નિરૂપણ

તા. ૧૯/૪/૧૯૭૦, મોમ્બાસા. લોહાણા એસેમ્બલી હૉલમાં યોગીજી મહારાજ કહે, “નિત્યાનંદ સ્વામીએ પૂછ્યું, ‘આશરાનું શું રૂપ છે?’ સાક્ષાત્ પુરુષોત્તમ નારાયણે પ્રેમથી ઉત્તર આપ્યો, ‘સર્વધર્માન્ પરિત્યજ્ય મામેકં શરણં વ્રજ! હે અર્જુન! તારું મનધાર્યું મૂકી દે. હું કહું તેમ કર.’ અર્જુને તેમ કર્યું, તો તેની જીત થઈ. મહારાજે તેમની મૂર્તિ નરનારાયણની અમદાવાદમાં બેસાડી. આશરો કર્યાનાં ત્રણ લક્ષણ છે: (૧) મહાપ્રલય જેવું દુઃખ આવતું તો નથી. કદાપિ આવી પડે તોય રક્ષાના કરનારા ભગવાન ને સંત વિના બીજાને ન જાણે. (૨) જે જે જોઈતું હોય તે પોતાના ઇષ્ટદેવ પાસે જ માગે. (૩) તેની મરજી પ્રમાણે વર્તે. મહારાજે નિત્યાનંદ સ્વામીને જવાબ દીધો. શ્રીમુખની વાણી સમજવા જેવી છે. આકાશ ફાટે તેટલું દુઃખ આવે તોય રક્ષાના કરનારા શ્રીજીમહારાજ વિના બીજાને ન માને. તેની ઇચ્છા વિના સૂકું પાંદડુંય હલવા સમર્થ નથી. ગુણાતીત સ્વામીએ વાતમાં કહ્યું, ‘કોઈ માર માર કરતો આવતો હોય તોય સમજવું કે મારા સ્વામીની ઇચ્છા વિના સૂકું પાંદડું પણ કોઈનું હલાવ્યું હલતું નથી.’ સ્વામી અને મહારાજ બેય એક જ વાત બોલ્યા. મેળ મળી ગયો. અક્ષરે સહિત પુરુષોત્તમની ખરી સર્વોપરી નિષ્ઠા હોય તેને શાંતિ શાંતિ વર્તે. ટાઢું વર્તે.”

April 19, 1940. Mombasa. In the ‘Lohana Assembly Hall’, Yogiji Mahārāj said, “Nityānand Swāmi asked, ‘What is the characteristic of refuge in God?’ Manifest Purushottam Narayan answers the question with love: ‘Sarva dharmān parityajya māmekam sharanam vraja! O! Arjun. Abandon the whims of your mind. Do as I say.’ Arjun did as told so he won (the Mahābhārat war). Mahārāj installed his murti along with Nārāyan (as Nar-Nārāyan) in Amdāvād. There are three characteristics of refuge in God: (1) We do not encounter misery equal to the final dissolution; but if we do, one would believe only God and his Sant are the true protectors, no one else. (2) If one needs something, he only asks God. (3) He behaves according to his wishes. Mahārāj answered Nityānand Swami. His words are worthy of understanding. One experiences misery like the whole world will fall apart, yet he believes no one except Shriji Mahārāj will protect him. Without his wish, not even a dry leaf would stir in the wind. Gunātitānand Swāmi said, ‘If someone comes charging at us with the intent of beating us, we should understand that everything happens according to my Swami’s wishes; however, without his will, no one can stir a leaf.’ Mahārāj and Swāmi both said the same thing. Both are connected. One who has the belief of Purushottam along with Akshar will experience peace and tranquility.”

નિરૂપણ

૨૦-૨૧/૬/૧૯૬૨, મુંબઈ. સવારની સભામાં સ્વામીશ્રીએ વાત કરી:

“સત્પુરુષનો વિશ્વાસ હોય, વચનમાં વિશ્વાસ હોય, તો (સ્વામીનો) આશરો, (સ્વામીનો) નિશ્ચય થઈ જાય. લાભ મળ્યો છે પણ જીવમાં ગેડ બેસે તો હવાદ આવે. મહિમા સમજાય તો વિશ્વાસ આવે, પછી ગેડ બેસે.

“જેમ ભગવાનની માનસી-પૂજા કરે, તેમ ઉત્તમ ભક્તની ભેગી પૂજા – ગુણાતીતની કરે. આપણા જેવાની નથી કહેતા. ગુણાતીતને અર્થે મંદિરમાં પાંચ-પચાસ આપવા પડે. સ્વામી શાસ્ત્રીજી મહારાજે સરખી સેવા કરી, તો મહારાજ-સ્વામીની મૂર્તિઓ બેસી ગઈ. હજારો દર્શન કરે છે. કનિષ્ઠમાંથી ઉત્તમ થઈ જાય. મહારાજ કહે: ‘મને સો વાર જમાડે, ને મારા ભક્તોને એક વાર જમાડે, તો હું સો વાર માનું છું.’

“જૂના સંપ્રદાયવાળા કહે, ‘તમે સ્વામીને મુગટ પહેરાવો છો,’ પણ ઉત્તમ ભક્ત છે એટલે સરખી સેવા થાય.”

During the morning discourse, Yogiji Mahārāj said, “If one trusts the the Satprush and trusts his words, then one’s refuge becomes strong and he becomes convinced in Swāmi’s (the Satpurush’s) form. We have attained a great opportunity, but only when this conviction becomes consolidated in the jiva will we relish it. If we understand the greatness of God, then we can develop trust. Then, understanding becomes consolidated.

“Just as one does mānsi-pujā of God, one would do the same for the Bhakta - the Gunātit Sant. He is not talking about devotees like us. One would have to spend five or 50 dollars for the Gunātit Sant. Shāstriji Mahārāj served God and the Sant equally - so the murtis of both Mahārāj and Swāmi were installed. Now, thousands do their darshan. One who is of the lowest level attains the highest level. Mahārāj says, ‘One feeds me a hundred times; but if one feeds my Bhakta once, I’ll consider that being served one hundred times.’

“Those from the old sampradāy question, ‘You all put a crown on Swāmi.’ But he is the best Bhakta, so we can serve him this way just as we serve Mahārāj.”
